I'm not super optimistic about either of them coming to NA in the future but Karnaukhov has more hockey talent/likeliness to reach upside than any of the remaining picks at least IMO.

And you joke about Smith but he should be coming off the board very soon, at least in my opinion. He's got as strong a case as anyone after Lomberg and Wotherspoon are gone. Smith will absolutely play some NHL games. I don't know if he'll even be replacement level, but he will have a career.
How do you explain the less than impressive numbers in the WHL for Karnaukhov?

How many years has it been now for Spoon to take a 2-way RFA QO and try to make the Flames team? I lost count.

This is precisely why Wotherspoon is extremely low on my list.

He's one of the oldest on this list, and had ample opportunity to come up and make enough of an impression to stick compared to many of our other prospects. I understand that defencemen have a longer road to the NHL, but in his four professional years so far, Wotherspoon has shown nothing to indicate that he'll be anything more than an AHL tweener that could do spot duty as a bottom pairing in the NHL on a worse team like the Canucks.

Considering he seems to be regressing from his solid stint in 2013-14 (remember when he thought media was trying to interview Gio instead of him after that one game?) that's a pretty alarming sign, and I'm surprised they even extended him a qualifying offer with Stone and Hamonic signed for the next three years and our d-core locked down. I wouldn't even call him a better defenceman than Bartkowski at this point, and Bart leaves a lot to be desired.
