And if it does you have 4m+ d man with term on your 3rd pairing, either way its a bad move/unlikely

Treliving himself said he's open to re-signing Stone.

Just becsuse he plays on your 3rd pairing doesn't make him a bad player. I feel it shows a team having unbelievable depth at an extremely important position. I'd be perfectly fine giving Stone a 3 or 4 year deal if the cap hit is low enough.

Hamilton
Giordano Hamilton
Brodie Hamonic
Kulak Stone
Bartkowski

What the hell??
Bouma is the teams worst forward out of this group of forwards. Why are you penciling him into this starting lineup?
Bouma should be an extra forward, if not buried in Stockton. He's terrible.

Not saying I love him in there but I see him there to start the year.

I'd rather put Stajan at LW there in that spot instead of Bouma.

And with Stajan as an extra on my roster you could totally do that.

Why do you hate Booms so much? Hate the contract? sure but he's really no different then before. He still forchecks, kills penalties, lays in front of everything.
Complain about the contract (even though I'm glad he got that contract and made some money cuz he's been a warrior who really sacrificed his body for this team) but he still is an NHL player capable of playing on the 4th line.

Because he is not good and he's by some moderate margin the worst forward this team has.
He's not good enough to provide any sort of consistently decent forecheck (his hits rarely ever do much good as he often misses his target and mostly hits more glass than opponent when throwing a bodycheck). And when he doesn't get into shooting lanes, he gets exposed badly defensively because he loses his defensive zone coverage a lot.
IMO, other than laying in front of everything and being a human puck blocking machine, he's adequate at nothing else at any sort of NHL level.

Bouma is no longer an NHL player. He excels at nothing. Took his paycheck and got comfortable.

Disagree. He scored 17 in a season where a lot of things went right for him. He's more then adequate in terms of killing penalties, cycling the puck as a 4th line unit, finish his checks.

Disagree.
He kills a lot of offensive plays when cycling the puck. And as far as finishing his checks, yes he does that, but many times he'll often hit all or mostly glass and miss his opponent when dishing out a check on an opposing player, rendering his attempted bodycheck mostly useless.
Again, Bouma is by a somewhat moderate margin the worst forward this team has.

That's the thing though. A lot of things went right for him, notably an unsustainable high shooting percentage and playing mostly with Backs. That was an anomaly of a season for Bouma. That was his career year.
He isn't anywhere near as good as that 2014-15 season was and he'll almost certainly never come close to even remotely doing that well again as an NHLer.
Bouma is arguably not an NHL calibre player anymore.

Bouma is a really awful player at this point. Should be nowhere near the Flames next year.

Disagree, Bouma plays hard every shift and imo is an ideal 4th liner. I've said for years that he's the type of player teams win with. Last year was rough for him. I'm predicting a bounce back season

He's an overpaid 4th liner. Just like every 4th liner on this team.

Free agent market looks pretty slim for top 6 forwards so I think we have to stick with what we have.
Gaudreau – Monahan – Ferland
Jankowski – Backlund – Frolik
Tkachuk – Bennett – Lazar
Versteeg – Stajan – Brouwer
extras Hamilton, Shinkaruk, Bouma
Gio – Hamilton
Brodie – Hamonic
Bartkowski – Kulak
extra Andersson
Smith
Johnson

I think the Flames will be highly active tracking a veteran forward to round out the current group.
Gaudreau – Monahan – Tkachuk
Ferland – Backlund – Frolik
Williams – Bennett – Versteeg
Jankowski – Stajan – Brouwer
Hamilton, Bouma
Gio – Hamilton
Brodie – Hamonic
Stone – Kulak
Bartkowski
Smith
Johnson
