true, and there's nothing wrong with crazy, but in this case, he was making jokes and anecdotes that weren't making any sense, and he was laughing. The interview guys were kind of laughing but you could tell how uncomfortable it was for them.
Kind of like a drunk uncle who's not funny but thinks he is. This was a bad kind of crazy.

Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row) is still going strong as well. His interview with Tom Green is a real blast:

The stories of when Skid Row toured and opened for Guns 'n' Roses back in the late 80s are legendary. Guns felt Bach was a kindred spirit and could out drink and out party even themselves which was no small feat.

Eddy treated Michael Anthony even worse as he tried to make it like the guy was never in the band removing all his likenesses from album art on their website and trying to remove his name from writing credits on songs like Panama. Eddy Van Halen is one of the all-time great guitarists but he's also one of the all-time great mental cases as well.

I'm of a different opinion. I feel Van Halen's best overall album was 5150. I like a lot of the old stuff with Dave too but they had better range with Sammy.

Me too. 5150 is my favourite VanHalen album. I loved the DLR stuff too but it was such a different band you almost can't compare the two eras.

Isn't that what kind of caused the rift between DLR and VH? Roth wanted to play more up beat, life-style heavy rock, and VH wanted to bring in more synthesizers and focus more on meaningful lyrics and song writing... I think that was what I read somewhere before.
Honestly, a combination between the 2 probably would have been nice. VH wrote some good meaningful songs with Hagar, but personally, I liked Dave's vocals and showmanship more and didn't like the poppier synthesizers that were brought in at the tail end of the DLR era and into the Hagar era.
But yeah, they are practically 2 different bands.

give me anything pre-1984. Always loved Dave's stuff. You have the best guitar player on the planet and you bring in synthesizers? Yech.

I've read that the synths were actually Eddie's idea. Go figure...
I have nothing against the Sammy-era VH, but they're way more FUN with Diamond Dave.

What's the story with Michael Anthony? It's been 15 years since I paid attention to Van Halen. I just know Eddie brought in his son. Just your regular nepotism or was there some fall out prior to that?

I think the brothers kicked him out because he was too friendly with Hagar. Their loss.
Classic Dave last night. His voice is not what it once was, but he did manage to smash himself in the nose with a mic at the start of the first song. Eddie had to improve while Dave was patched up for their performance on the Kimmel show.

Interesting article here talking about the schism between DLR & VH

His voice is totally shot and his timing is crap. I would not go to see that for free.

Ha I didn't even realize that had happened. I saw Dave spinning the mic stand on Kimmel like a lunatic and then saw him with a bandage on his nose. I thought he was wearing a Breathe Right strip. Ha ha too funny. Eddie looked and sounded good last night. No opinion on Wolfie yet. As for Diamond Dave...hot mess. Maybe it was the sound but...not good.

based on the Kimmel video, I'd say that Wolfgang ate him.

If I remember correctly, he actually had a deal with a studio to make a film and they gave him a fairly a large budget, but then pulled the plug at some point, probably after finding out how difficult he was to work with.
