The Flames are going into the All-Star break in a playoff position. If anyone had offered that to me before the season started, or even a month ago I would have taken that in a second.

Huge thumbs up to the Flames for the way they have played for the first 47 games. Looking forward to watching meaningful games for the rest of the season.

We didn't have to be mad about losses at this time last year. Because the games didn't mean jack.

Man such a depressing PGT, everyone (myself included) seemed to have such good feelings about tonight... And then, as one poster out it in the GT, we get out-bounced, which is so frustrating because they were the better team to start the game. Can't fault Ortio either, what flukey goals. The Backlund misses a wide open net?

Just a really frustrating and depressing game. Thought they played well enough to win. I don't buy into curses, but there's something not quite right in that building.

Everytime I see @Honda center I just expect a loss, so really I can't be disappointed.

Too bad Ortio didn't have a good night. I wonder if he'll be sent down now now. Gaudreau put up 7 shots and Bouma with a +2 (one of the few players +).

At least it was a very entertaining game. Got the feeling that they could actually pull off the comeback, and they probably could have if Backs had scored on the empty net opportunity. Good to have that anything-is-possible feeling back. It's been a little lost for me since the losing streak.

4-1 on the January California death trip, I'll take it.

In a playoff spot at the All-Star break, I'll take it.

3 points back of San Jose with a game in hand, we have Buffalo, Minnesota, Edmonton; while San Jose plays Anaheim and Chicago.

We could pass them by the end of the month!

Never give up! Never surrender! Fight until the last breath.

That's what I love about this team.

Tough game, also a tough team to play on their last game of a tough road trip.

I would think the Flames will send down Ortio, Granlund and Wotherspoon to AHL now that the All Star break has begun.

Josh Jooris might also get sent down for a couple of games.

It was so good to see Hartley call a timeout with less than one minute to go, down two goals to the top team in the league. As impossible as it seems, they just keep at it.

I hope they don't send Jooris down just to save a few bucks on NHL salary. Looks cheap.

Would think, if he is sent down. Its more of getting him more games due to the time he missed. AHL Flames have two games this weekend.

I hope we get Anaheim in the first round of the playoffs so we can take this curse, dig a big hole with a cursed shovel, and bury the Ducks with it.

Jooris is coming off an injury. Let him rest, don't send him down.

Such a frustrating game. O'well, overall we're sitting far ahead of what I expected this season and even far ahead of what I expected after the 8 game streak.

I just cannot wait until Porier and Bennett are on the team. If we can get one more prospect to surprise we might actually be a powerhouse in a season or two.

Exciting times for Flames fans! The hockey gods are repaying us after Darryl Sutter lost his mind and ran the team into the ground there for a bit. I thank Feaster. I really wish he was still our GM.

Good effort but we have seen enough of Raymond and Bollig... Who cares if the new GM just signed them.. trade them or put them on waivers even if we get zip in return. They give us nothing!! Im sure Wolf and Ferland could make a real difference. At least give them a chance.

And while they are at it let Granlund go down for more seasoning. With what we have in the pipeline we can do better.

Stajan was horrible last night. Seems he is also back to his stupid penalty routine. He was poison on the puck last night. Everytime he touched it the play died or the Ducks got the puck. Watched it every shift he was out there in all three zones. Have no idea why people continually defend this guy. Granlund should have his spot.

Raymond was also horribad. Finished with a -4 on the night (next closest were Jones and Jooris with -2's), dragging down any linemates that were out with him. The guy has some serious tunnel vision taking low % shots, not even looking for an open man. Such weak play from this guy, no wonder the Canucks and Leafs didn't care to attempt to re-sign him.

Some of this dead weight has to be cut with all the young guys we have pushing for a spot.

I think Hartley should finally pair up Monahan and Gaudreau for good. They are magic every time they are with each other.

Nope. I insinuated that the next three games are winnable. In no way did I say outright we would win those games or that they were going to be easy.
