What exactly does the decision not to participate say about players who simply don't want to go?

I was thinking more like guys like Scheifele, but after flipping through the list I see there are way more who Gaudreau (even using this year's stats) compares favorably to, and almost none he doesn't.
I guess I stand corrected, and OP that I responded to is correct - I am expecting too much.

Thanks. I actually found that interesting and was curious, hence the "research".
I'm on my phone so it was a bit more difficult, and I couldn't find those above him in salary easily.

Why are you implying that I'm criticizing those players who don't go? Please don't attribute comments to me that I haven't made. I think it's good when a young player goes. Especially a young player like Johnny who last year signed a giant contract. It is possible to commend someone actions without criticizing others.

If it's a "silly thing to care much about" why are you debating it? Honestly that seems silly to me.
