The questions:

1. Which NDP candidate is the biggest threat to your rights and freedoms?
2. Who do you think will win the NDP leadership race?
3. Do you think the new NDP leader will aggressively attack Danielle Smith and the UCP from day one?
4. How alarmed are you that the incoming NDP leader might torpedo Alberta's hard-won achievements?
5. (OPTIONAL) Do you have any strategic advice for dealing with the next NDP leader?

Sure would be a shame to lose my rights and freedoms and all those hard-won 'achievements'.

Wasting billons of dollars, scaring away qualified medical staff to the point of criticality, paying sky-high energy and insurance bills, and foregoing billions in renewable investments just 'because' are 'hard-won achievements'?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the UCP is the worst government in Canadian history, at any level.

Sounds like the proposed legislation might only apply to 'large' cities (ie Edmonton and Calgary). Because those two cities are the two biggest thorns for the UCP.

The first question is inflammatory fear mongering garbage. I can’t stand this in politics. This #### is supposed to be boring. The is obvious garbage too, but that first one really pisses me off.

A new bill would give the Alberta government more power over municipalities including granting cabinet the power to remove councillors from office, and forcing councils to repeal bylaws it doesn't like.

Bill 20, the Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment, was tabled in the legislature Thursday afternoon.

The bill would allow the creation of municipal political parties, but it comes in the form of a pilot project only affecting Edmonton in Calgary.

Bill 20 goes much further by proposing many other changes to the Local Authorities Election Act and the Municipal Government Act to reinforce the province's authority over municipalities.

If passed, the bill would allow cabinet to call a public referendum on the fate of a municipal councillor, or go as far as to unilaterally remove them from office if it is deemed in the public interest.
