My car is parked at the airport outdoors. I'm concerned I'll come back to a golf ball. Risk of the cheap parking in the summer I suppose.

Literally the exact same thing happened to me last summer. Away on holidays, car parked outside at the airport, got news of a massive hail storm. Really sucked because there was absolutely nothing I could have done in that situation.

Anyways, yeah I came back to a destroyed vehicle but all good insurance covered it, I even got them to replace the windshield for me so I didn't mind paying the deductible and they did a great job. Good luck!

Was it bad anywhere? I haven't heard of anyone's cars being damaged.

Gah, I saw some lightning last night but didn't realize there was hail. Left my house at like 4:30 this morning in a daze so I didn't even notice anything. Fingers crossed my car's fine...

I live downtown and I don't see anything on my car or any of the other cars close by.

I feel like you guys made this hailstorm up.

I live near the airport and there was no significant hail here. It kind of sounded like hail for a brief 30 second period, but looking outside, it appeared just to be heavy rain.

Me too -- it was hail for a little bit, then the rain really picked up and wiped it out. Wasn't big enough to do any damage to anything though.

I'll be back after midnight tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for the updates. Will hope for the best.

We had a tropical storm blow through here in Mexico this week. Was fun for a bit but it trashed the beach here. Left gigantic piles of seaweed 20 yards deep on the beach. Ugh.

I was flying back from South America and that storm caused us trouble. They said they were going around it but asked everyone to keep seatbelts on for the entire flight, just in case. It was an overnight flight so I slept through the worst of it.

Incredibly smoky right now in the SW. I assume it's forest fires, but had to go out and make sure it wasn't some house. Can barely see the end of the street.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement about the smoke. The AQHI is at 9.

My lungs are burning. I had to close my window.

So smoky out I had to make sure neighbours or my garage wasn't on fire. Unbelievable.

This morning when I took the dogs out, it smelled like someone was having a backyard fire - which seemed strange because it was 7 am and raining.

Some pretty solid thunder and lighting around downtown now. Looks like the radar has the seeder planes out so I guess we can expect some rain / hail?

Yeah looks like some cells in the SW, moving through the city shortly.

Been thundering and pouring here at Macleod and Southland for 45 minutes or so already.
