Come on guys, stop being baited by the English media.

No one grows up being a Chelsea supporter. They get abducted by John terry's dad at around 12 and are forced to attend matches.

Liverpool might have a chance to stitch up the title this weekend - Chelsea have been given the OK to field a weakened team, as Jose saves his stars for the return leg vs Atletico.

I'm a bit scared that the team could look like this:

Schwarzer
Ake
Kalas
Luiz
Cole
Matic
Mikel
Lampard
Salah
Baker (U/21 star)
Demba Ba

Actually, a team with Mikel and Matic could clog the midfield up enough to make the game one of those ones decided by the odd set piece/counterattack.

At this point in the season, a typical Chelsea line up would not have bothered against Liverpool anyways - so starting a team like this is actually much more difficult for Liverpool I think.

It will definitely be a good game to get Schwarzer back in game shape.

Reading this sure brightened up my journey home this evening.

Standard Sport understands chairman Daniel Levy remains a keen admirer of the 50-year-old Scot, having considered him to replace Harry Redknapp in 2012 before opting for Andre Villas-Boas.

Likely "weakened" CFC team: Schwarzer Azpilicueta Ivanovic Cahill Cole Matic Mikel Lampard Schurrle Salah Torres. Cost £157m.

Likely LFC team: Mignolet Johnson Skrtel Agger Flanagan Gerrard Lucas Coutinho Sterling Sturridge Suarez. Cost £90m.

I think David Moyes is going to have to wander the desert for a few years first.

ya it's not going to happen

Spurs supporters revolt when the team doesn't play open expansive football, people were all ready calling for AVBs head this season when they were grinding out 1-0 wins

Levy knows that, won't be Moyes

How goes it on Giggsy's first day? Have all the players locked up their wives?

Probably United's best game of the year. Moyes must be livid.

I wonder if SAF wandered into the locker room to ask the players where that kind of performance has been all season?

the second half was fantastic. You could really see some new found positivity among the players and I think the result even flattered Norwich - should have been more than 4 in all honesty. No idea how much of it was due to the fact that Moyes is gone though ... let's not forget that a Moyes-led United won 4-0 vs Newcastle not that long ago as well and that Norwich was really poor. Nevertheless, apart from Cleverley and Valencias crossing, I thought everyone was decent today. Was really bummed when Hernandez missed that chance in injury time ... the man desperately needs a goal.

Shocking as it may seem some people just see humping your brother's wife as a character stain that never goes away.

oh I agree. I just find it weird that it is brought up almost every time Giggs is mentioned in this thread (or, say, if there's nothing else at United to mock at the moment ). Ribery and Benzema both shagged a 16 year old and I don't see that mentioned in the CL thread every time they play.

Chelsea pull off a robbery! 2-0, goals at the end of each half. Reminds me of that semi final second leg vs Barcelona en route to the champions league title, but with all 11 on the pitch this time.

Liverpool can still finish with more points than chelsea.

Liverpool 80-86
Chelsea 78-84
Man City 74-86

City have the best goal differential too, so now it is really going down to the wire

I think chelsea won the title for city today, still almost no chance for them needing both teams to drop points but city really only has one meaningful hurdle left next weekend in everton.

Knowing that is like a cup final for them, you can't see them losing.

Although that said I didn't see Chelsea winning today either, horrible football to watch but tactically spot on.
