Ah yes, Nate Diaz . . . The man with the IQ of a ketchup bottle and the face of an overcooked hot dog.

Emanuel Yarbrough, who was on the wrong end of the most famous knockdown in early UFC history, passed away on Monday at the age of 51.

Yarbrough, who fought once in the UFC, and three times overall, was the largest MMA fighter in its history. At one time, he was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest athlete.

At 6-foot-7, he was billed at 616 pounds for a fight against 195-pound Keith Hackney on the third UFC event, held on Sept. 9, 1994, at the Grady Cole Center, in Charlotte, N.C. Exactly what he really weighed was subject to conjecture, because in those days, there were no weight classes and no weigh-ins.

This made me laugh. I think Diaz and MacGregor would be an awesome match up.

Staying at MGM Signature. Not going to the fights, but ran into Holly Holm in the hallway - she is very good looking in person. The only decent looking woman i have seen so far in Vegas so far, other than my wife. Also saw Bader I think, and many various Ed Hardy types.

bs...thought Condit should have taken it. It was close though and a really fun fight. I haven't jumped around the living room like I did in the 5th round in a long time. I thought all Condit had to do was survive the 5th but I guess not. The strikes landed stats will be interesting...

Apparently Condit had 196 significant strikes to lawler's 78 or something like that. more than double in any event.

Very close fight, I think a re-match would be epic.

I had Condit winning it.

The thing is it was only close because of the 5th round. Really aside from that I think everyone (aside from 2 judges) thought that Lawler needed a stoppage to hold his belt. In between the 3/4 rounds Lawlers corner was telling him that he needed the next two rounds. That 4th round was Condit all the way (and convincingly for sure).

I would love to see the UFC take the lead on this issue and show judges scores. I can understand the opposition (it could be anti-climactic), but it would force guys to really go for it in the 3rd/5th round. Not that those two left anything in the tank last night, but I think it would be a partial fix.

Before anyone jumps on me with the old "don't leave it in the hands of the judges" comment, I get that also. But to expect that the judges aren't completely out to lunch isn't asking that much either.
