Good call! Can't believe I forgot to mention that one. Definitely one of the most hilarious and entertaining moments in Flames history.

Sarich vs Marleau as well.

Last home game 85-86 against the grease, Sather to the media looking past the flames as a sure win, Sather getting the boot in the 2nd, Wayne at his whiniest, Otto and semenko going toe to toe at center ice with jerseys ripped off and then beating them 9-3. Best game I have ever been to. The crowd went nuts.

37 FOR 37: BEATING THE FLYERS

Upstart Flames upend the big, bad, Broad Street Bullies in thrilling seven-game playoff series

They'd squandered a 3-games-to-1 lead. Allowed the Rottweiler to bite through the leash.

"Nobody,'' reasons Al MacNeil, the Flames' coach at the time, over 36 years after the fact, "had given us a chance, so much as a second-thought, when the series began.

"So what made Game 7 any different."

The relocated Flames, in their first season out of Atlanta, in preposterous search of a spot in the Stanley Cup semifinals.

A three-game sweep of the Chicago Blackhawks, the franchise's first-ever playoff series success, netted them a quarter-final date with the bully-boy Philadelphia Flyers.

Only the year before, the two-time Stanley Cup champs had gone a record 35 consecutive games without losing.

To no one's surprise, Philly cruised in Game 1, 4-0.

Much to the shock of Bobby Clarke, Bill Barber, Reggie Leach, et al, and to the amazement of the hockey world, the Flames then strung off 5-4, 2-1 and 5-4 wins.

The Flyers, nothing if not scrappy, fended off elimination via 9-4 and 3-2 scorelines.

So back to the belly of the beast, the most feared address in all of hockey, 3601 South Broad Street, site of the now-demolished Spectrum.

"Going into the Spectrum back then,'' recalls Jim Peplinski, "was like that moment in Gladiator, remember, where the guys are walking into the Colosseum and few of them are peeing their pants.

"You get the picture."

My personal favourite moment was coming back against the ducks in 2015 in the playoffs. I haven't been around as long as a lot of you, and that was a great moment for a young team

Sarich destroying Marleau in the '08 playoffs

Theo's OT goal in game 6, '91 playoffs

Iggy's return to the 'Dome after being traded. Amazing standing ovation and not a dry eye in the house.

'04 Cup final, game 5 OT- "The Shift"

Big flames fan hear but TBH I have never really seen what was so amazing about this shift. It was pretty good but, I think Flames fans hold it up on a pedestal.

There are many, but this also is top 3 for me. I was at Bottlescrew Bill's that night, my first taste of the Red Mile. I remember you could hear a pin drop in the bar when Gelinas had the open net. and then absolute pandemonium. I think i cried tears of joy that night. I've heard this before, but I think everybody in the bar and on the streets knew it, we were going to win the cup that year after putting the Wings away...

My favorite moment, should easily be #1. When Lanny hoisted the Cup.

When he scored in the deciding game it gave me shivers. I still relive it every time that Scotiabank commercial with the kids playing street hockey comes on.

It's equally great and sad at the same time that the most memorable moment for most fans occurred 28 years ago when the team won the cup. Not being old enough to remember this achievement, the 2003/2004 cup run is clearly my defining moment as a Flames fan.

It is not easy cheering for this team. Aside from the most recent cup run, the Franchise hasn't had much, if anything significant to celebrate since 1989....
