Default Canadian, ESPN analyst John Saunders has died.

Always enjoyed everything he did. Knew he was Canadian, did not know that he played hockey to a fairly high level.

Brutal. He was a legend, and my first memories of watching ESPN and hockey always included him. Did not know he was a stand-out hockey junior hockey player as well.

In today's day and age, 61 is a very young age to pass. Condolences to his family. RIP Joan Saunders.

Stunning news.

He was always just...there... when it came to ESPN.

Tremendous broadcaster and (after listening to some clips of his colleagues today) a truly remarkable person who mentored many of them.

This year......has just sucked for this kind of news.

Just read that he has a book coming out next year on depression. Never knew that about him. You'd never look at that guy and think he'd struggle with something like that.

Reading the things on Twitter from ESPN staff today really made me realize how well respected he was in the business, a huge loss
