Nice work Scorpion. Hope the Flames can stay away from the market this year. Would think we would hear the contracts of Monahan and Gaudreau soon. If anything, a power forward would be nice to grab today.

Many thanks to the both of you.

A power forward would be really nice, you're right -- as long as it isn't Chris Stewart.

Last year the GM's seemed reluctant to throw around the huge money, long term deals that we had become accustomed to seeing on July 1st. I think that changes this year and we see some really crazy deals. If Lucic really gets a 6 or 7 year deal in the $6,000,000 to $7,000,000 range then I would expect Okposo to come close to that.

I'd steer away from both of those players if that's the kind of money and term it will take to sign them.

Will be an interesting day, very convenient time for me here in Czech republic /6pm/ so will go for a walk after work and then will be pressing F5 all over the afternoon and night here on CP and around the internet :-) My wishes for today, quality goaltending backup and one top 6 forward and please, please resign Nakladal, he deserves contract with us sooooo much!!!!No worries on my side about Johnny and Monny contracts. Go Flames!

Say what you will about an overabundance of poll-based threads, it's nice to see (relatively) new posters who are excited about participating in the community of CP.

Was listening the other day and a commercial said they would have full day coverage until 8 when they would play the Jim Rome show from earlier today (?) because its his annual smack off.

Thanks you Scorpion for a well organized and presented FA day thread, it is much appreciated for updates.

Hope we get back Ortio and Colbourne on reasonable deals and grab Connolly and maybe Brower on a reasonable deal (3x4)

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, great job TheScorpion. If you can somehow keep the original post updated throughout the day tomorrow, that would be amazing. It would be nice to have tomorrows craziness all in one thread for the people who cant keep updated throughout the day.

Brett Connolly is always an interesting name to see. 2010 6th overall who seems to have busted pretty hard.

He'd be a complete reclamation project but I'd be tempted to pick him up, especially if we're letting Jooris go. On paper he's exactly what we need: 24 years old, 6'2" RH RW. Just hasn't put it together in the NHL yet.

Worth a cheeky league minimum contact I think.
