I bought my Daydream VR goggles last night. Now I just need my 128gb Pixel XL to actually use them... But I'm pretty excited nonetheless.

Keep Talking & Nobody explodes got ported to it. Haven't tried it in VR, but pretty tempted to get it.

It's great in VR at least on the PSVR

We're having people over to play it on Saturday night. It's such a good party game.

For those that have tried them all I need an opinion on the Rift DK2, how does it compare to the release and the Vive?

You can try them out at the Microsoft Store.

I tried the Rift release version at the one in Edmonton. Unfortunately they were demoing with Minecraft, I found the experience underwhelming, and that the screens seemed to have too much screen door effect as in you could see the little pixels clearly. That might just be Minecraft though.

The sales guy suggested I come back as they were going to hook up the Vive an hour later, he seemed to think it was better. I had other things to do in the Best Mall on Earth so couldn't go back to try it.

I was willing to buy that day but the demo of Minecraft kept my wallet in my pocket.

I see this came out quite a while ago. Has anyone here tried it and can comment on it?

I have Crunchbite's DK2. It's okay but it was based on a mobile phone screen with lower pixel pitch and resolution so you see more pixels/screen door effect.

I would compare the image of the Vive to slightly better than a current gen phone (Galaxy 6, etc.) through Google Cardboard but with better lenses so you are closer to the action.

Or just come to http://www.level1vr.com/ and try the Vive for ~$20/hour with a good complement of games.

I tried it and found it pretty awesome to use for watching movies. A giant screen that you can change size and distance and location. I watched a normal and 3D and both were great. I also used it to play Diablo 3, that looked good but reading text was not easy.

I ended up with a Vive a couple weeks back after posting that. I actually decided on the Rift but when I went to the MS Store they didn't sell them in store and the Vive was on sale $100 off.

Could be the "Oculus has sold half as well as Vive and one quarter as well as PSVR" discount.

Maybe even the "sell as many as we can before we're slapped with court order to stop selling" sale (Betheseda decision)

My Vive has been sitting in the closet forever, not because I don't want to use it but because I don't have the room to use it where my gaming PC is. I've been also trying to figure out a way to run a front HDMI port from my 1080 so I can hook it up for non movement games. Basically I need a second PC but that isn't going to happen so I need ideas to extend my current PC to another room or something. First World Problems,

I grabbed a 2016 version of the Gear VR from Best Buy for $80 a few days ago. It's kind of confirmed what I had already suspected about VR. There's a lot of potential and I believe the technology has nowhere to go but up, but the novelty is already starting to wear off.

Oculus has a limited time sale on the Rift and Touch controllers for $549 through their site and also on Amazon. I'm tempted to get one but just can't convince myself to hit that submit button.

I tried the HTC Vive today at the Microsoft Store in Chinook.

Wow, was I ever impressed. Did the underwater demo, then the wizard lab, then the space shooter.

It was amazing. Way better than Minecraft, which was underwhelming.

The boundary grid is so holodeck like, and the hand controllers worked great. There was a screen door effect, once they eliminate that, it will even be better.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll wait for the next generation. I think not.

I love the Vive but since getting it in November it hasn't really been used because I don't have the space to use it to its full potential. If you are looking to pick one up I could sell you mine at a good price.
