Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six - Siege
Thought I'd just start a new thread.
Here's the road map for map and operator releases. Looks like the first one in January is Canadian based.
Any guesses/wishlists on what type of operators they'll create?

Absolutely brilliant game (sorry guys, didn't get on last night, been playing too much R6S).
I'm hoping they add an attack operator who wears silent equipment. A fully silent op would be a great addition.
On D, an op who can put up his own cameras (rather than the static ones) would be awesome.

I'd like to see a defender get one door reinforcement that extends all the way to the floor and can only be taken out by Thermite.
If you've seen the season pass image in the game you can start to guess what the first two operators will be like.
Looks like one of the Canadians has some sort of under barrel shotgun attachment which I am assuming is his gadget.

Kapkan is one of my most played defenders and while it's immensely satisfying hearing one of your traps take out an attacker I feel they're too easy to spot. You have to be rushing not to notice the giant orange spike sticking out of the wall. I'd like for them to remove the spike and keep the laser.
A pressure plated trap would be great especially if you could put them on stairs.

Fun game for sure but as a old school rainbow six fan I'm still a tad disappointed. Still better than any other shooter I've played in a few years though.

Might be a bit low tech, but a D op with proximity alarms and/or proximity mines might be neat. They'd probably just call em Proxy.

I'll be on, might have a couple bros too. That of course also depends on how good the hockey game is as well.

Much to the chagrin of R6 purists, it is a multiplayer game, with a sort-of training style singleplayer mode which has no story.
Currently there are two major multiplayer modes, 5v5 PvP (sub modes are bomb defusal and hostage rescue) which has both casual and competitive ranking setups, and a co-op 5-man PvE mode, where you have to complete an objective against a whole boatload of computer-controlled enemies.
In all modes, the game currently features 10 Defensive and 10 Attack "Operators", which function MOBA-Style as "specialists" or "classes" whom all have different weapon setups, gadgets, armor, speeds, and bonuses.
The game currently has 11 maps, each of which has 3 "time" modes (day, evening, night). The spawns in Casual are random, with the defensive and attacking spawn zones different every round, which makes for a lot of variety.
While a bit buggy (matchmaking is a work in progress so far), the game is incredibly fun.
This review sums up my feelings nicely:

Most tactical games take a while to get there: the tipping point where I’m no longer struggling with controls, communication, or match flow. After the first match in a typical game of Siege, I know my role, my team and I have developed a relationship, and we’re settling into a unique rhythm. For a game with so many branches of complexity and potential, Siege is the only shooter I know that encourages such tactical depth, player expression, and creative teamplay. It’s a game that wastes no time getting to the primal, creative, social, everything core of what makes competition so much fun.

If you're a fan of the series, then you have to pretend this isn't even a rainbow six game. It's good fun, but don't expect anything "rainbow six" about it.
After Vegas, we're all probably used to that idea though.

I am really starting to like the Mac 11 secondary for Sledge and Smoke. I think it might be the best secondary weapon in the game.

I love it. Doing a hostage extraction and not being restricted to a pistol is great

Damn the meta in this game is getting harder every day. Teams are tightening up and I'm seeing a lot more pre-mades (and good Operator compositions).
Certain corners on certain sites you're 90% likely to get MP5 sniped on now. Also, for those concerned with meta, the MP5 is R6S's AK47, in that the first shot is guaranteed accurate, and will 1-shot kill to the face.
Shields are no where near the level of OP they were even a week ago (though still very good on the right maps), and communication is more crucial than ever.
God I love watching an MP game evolve.

Wish the game had more features. Split screen would be nice, or at least custom settings for terrorist hunt mode. Being forced to play disarm the bomb on Bartlett University over and over is not fun.

Terrorist hunt solo is extremely hard - especially the protect hostage scenario where they come in waves with virtually no time to prepare defenses in between.
Psycnet - you're right about the meta in this game. I played a 'clan' last night and they were absolutely deadly.
