Man, definitely love Iggy's passion and fight. Like when he was the only one who tried to stand up for Colborne in that game the Avs were getting pummelled 10:1 by the Habs... and that at age 39!

I just have so much freaking respect for Iggy... the player he is and always has been. What a warrior. There is no one out there that deserves a cup more than him. Please come home to Calgary for one more season Iggy.

We should have traded for him. Kings are done now

Maroon is a bit of a b**tch for a guy his size.

Good in Iggy for having a tilt.

Iginla deserves better to end his career.

Its hard to believe a playoff team wouldn't trade for him.

The fight bell they ring at the start of the fight is so tacky. And so Oiler.

So NHL record? Years and or games played between first NHL fight and last NHL fight? I mean I know he has a chance at still breaking his own record but would anyone else have this?

how is a Maroon a bitch? He plays good hockey, goes to the tough areas and doesn't mind taking a beating to get a goal. And he gave Iginla respect by accepting the fight. He's one of your best players and he's pretty tough.

Don't know, but I got curious and started looking around for who the oldest fighter in NHL history was. Gordie Howe looks like he had his last fight at 48, but that was in the WHA. Chelios's last fight was at 42, so even though he played quite a bit longer, it looks like the reigning senior champion would be Tim Horton, who had his last fight 3 weeks after his 44th birthday.

Yet another title Jaromir Jagr should be aiming for!

Whenever I see Iggy fight, I think back to the time where he and Phaneuf dropped the mitts (when Phaneuf was with the Leafs), and wish so badly that the refs didn't break it up. That would've been amazing.

Or him and Gio this year. Wouldn't have turned out well for Gio I don't think.

This year Maroon is who we thought they were getting with Brouwer.

Gary Roberts had a few fights after the age of 40 and you should look up the one against Ben Eager when he was a Penguin....Roberts is my hero!

One guy on this site that i block and you quote him.

Typical drive-by lame comment by him.

His version of winning a fight would be throwing 10 bombs to the nose without getting touched and a final little mac uppercut to finish.

Shanny off the top of my head. They sure don't make hockey players like they used to.
