Would suck to lose the starting job to a guy drafted a year after you but IIRC Blackwood's December birthday makes this his last year of eligibility in the World juniors.

Demko and Blackwood are two goalies I really liked going in each respective draft. It'll be interesting to watch them develop along with MacDonald.

FYI Mason McDonald is starting in goal for Charlottetown right now on SportsNet1 against Cape Breton.

Hopefully he has a stellar game and stops 80 of 86 shots in a 6-0 loss.

Mangiapane has been suspended (unknown for how many games) for a hit on Thursday against Owen Sound per Craig Ripley PBP for the Barie Colts. Did not play tonight

edit: it appears that Mangiapane crosschecked an Owen Sound player in the face after being legally hit by said player

In his first game back since being injured on Oct 18, Karnakuhov had 1 assist +1 in a 4-3 loss to Regina

Looks like the Mangiapane suspension was for 8 games dating back to Nov 26. Should be eligible to play again Dec 19.

Flames sure like to draft their OHL goons (Monahan, Bennett, Smith, Mangiapane). Suspended for 26 games combined.

edit: might be more than that, not sure about smith.

OHL goes hard after headshots. Not a surprise.

Excellent article on how Nick Schneider went from getting released in AA to NHL contract.

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...hats-schneider

Most interesting part is the article suggests if the Flames hadn't used all those picks in the Hamilton trade, Flames might have ended up drafting Schneider.

Wes Gilbertson ‏@SUNGilbertson:

#Flames prospect Andrew Mangiapane has six points for the OHL's Barrie Colts tonight ... and the game isn't over yet.

If I recall, Andersson leads all defenceman in points in the CHL.

2nd. He's 11 points back of Andrew Nielsen of the Lethbridge Hurricanes (2015 3rd Round pick of TOR)
