He has played two games, after sitting for almost a month. In the first game, he played really well.

In the second game he struggled. On a line with Bouma and Hamilton (who hasn't played in a month). On the road. Against the top team in the league.

This is why Canadian fans can't have nice things.

You have to let guys play into form. Players make mistakes. If you bench them every time they have a tough outing, they will never develop - you'll suck the life out of them.

You're making it seem as if Lazar is a rookie. There is a reason he has had a problem staying in the lineup and last night was a great example of why he had 1 point in 33 games and has been a healthy scratch a lot of the season.

It's not just "Canadian fans" that think this of Lazar. His coaches in Ottawa (one of the best teams in the east) didn't think he was playing well enough to stay in the lineup either consistently.

Lazar will without a doubt be out of the lineup next game unless someone else is injured and it'll be the right choice and not because "Canadian fans can't have nice things".

Nope had absolutely nothing to do with Mono at all. Just Lazar sucking under a new coach.
Sure am glad you're looking at things from all angles.

The guys gas tank is nil almost. He's good for half a shift and the Peters off. Watch, he starts standing and not skating near half way through his shift. He needs conditioning. But saying he hasn't be good at all is being far too over critical.

When he is moving he's hitting everything that moves, hard.

Patience is key, but sitting him out so he cannot get a feel for game pace isn't going to help him at all.

Energy is good but just because a player is energetic doesn't mean he's playing well. You can get guys from senior leagues if all you want to see is guys running around and hitting everything.

Positioning is also key and puck management. Something Lazar has failed at the NHL level.

Meh, we hit a couple posts, 4-2 loss with an empty netter sans Ferland and Tkachuk. With those two in we win this game easily. I ain't even mad. Holtby is an amazing goaltender in the clutch though.
