It's not just "Canadian fans" that think this of Lazar. His coaches in Ottawa (one of the best teams in the east) didn't think he was playing well enough to stay in the lineup either consistently.
Lazar will without a doubt be out of the lineup next game unless someone else is injured and it'll be the right choice and not because "Canadian fans can't have nice things".

Nope had absolutely nothing to do with Mono at all. Just Lazar sucking under a new coach.
Sure am glad you're looking at things from all angles.
The guys gas tank is nil almost. He's good for half a shift and the Peters off. Watch, he starts standing and not skating near half way through his shift. He needs conditioning. But saying he hasn't be good at all is being far too over critical.
When he is moving he's hitting everything that moves, hard.
Patience is key, but sitting him out so he cannot get a feel for game pace isn't going to help him at all.
