Default Flames center Kolanos just wants to go home to native Calgary (QC Times)

http://qctimes.com/articles/2008/01/...e407112091.txt

Quote:
Kolanos said his monthlong holdout was a business decision — he is making more money under contract to the local team owners than he would have under his previous two-way NHL deal — and he does not believe his lack of a contract with Calgary will preclude him from skating in his hometown’s Saddledome someday soon.

“I just have to keep taking steps in their direction,” he said of the NHL Flames. “I don’t think for one second about being on a one-way right now. It’s just irrelevant to me.’’

I've awfully interested to see where Kolanos ends up. It sounds like he's been playing fairly well down in the QC since we signed him. All the best to him, he sure has the right attitude from the sound of things.

His offensive upside is huge, however many fans here in QC think he plays lazy.

Is he good enough to replace nolan on the tanguay conroy line? That's all I care about right now

If you're looking for someone to coast through the neutral zone, hang out at the blue line waiting for an outlet pass, but pick up his game on the offensive zone, then yes.

Just curious if anyone here knows if QC's Krys Kolanos is Mark Kolanos' brother? I was down in Arizona over the holidays and caught a Sundogs game (CHL), and Mark Kolanos was one of the more impressive members of that team, and I knew the name on the jersey was very familiar for some reason.

Yeah they are brothers. For sure. I used to play with them as kids.

No. He's not on a NHL contract. There'd be waiver issues as well as other organizational issues to hurdle, making it unlikely.
Kolano's comments are merely typical of any guy wanting back in the show.
