I would say yes, since cottonwood is/was a private golf course and you are paying a rate that is a little less than what you would pay to play at heritage
I did not realize those guys at score needed a bunch of stuff to be induced to golf at a course - to me a more fair way to measure things would be just book a tee time on a wedensday afternoon, go play and then write your thoughts down

Is anyone here a member a Springbank that could possibly book a tee time for me on Sunday August 7 in the morning for a foursome? Public tee times are only 7 days in advance and it seems to be pretty tough to get an AM tee time as a public booking.
If you can help me out send me a PM.

If you call now and explain your situation sometimes I have had courses slide their rules for me. Usually take a deposit though.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with some good league or interclub play in the city? Definitely regret not getting into it this year. Would be great to play a bit more competitive golf.
I'm eyeing up a couple courses next year to take on a designate membership. Obviously many courses have their regular league play but I suppose I'm more curious about the interclub and what kind of experiences people may have had. I'm in the SE so I'm looking at courses like Cottonwood, Darcy (apparently they have interclub despite being a public course?) Sirocco etc...
Thanks in advance for any info

Rain is just clearing in Kelowna now and I'm wanting to do a quick 9 on one of the two courses near me. Shannon Lake or Two Eagles - anyone played both and can recommend?

Nike out of the club business is a bit of a disappointment, I bought a Vapor Fly 5 wood last year and absolutely love it, and have been seriously considering picking up a 3 wood to replace my Ping I20, going to keep an eye out for deals I suppose.

I have a 52 and 60 Nike wedge and I like them. If you can find some for a close out deal I would recommend you take a look.

Back in the day I owned a Nike Sumo driver. It always made a horrible sound and would drive my golfing buddies crazy. One day they took up a collection and bought me a Taylormade driver so they could get rid of that piece of #### as they called it

^ after 5 yrs I would expect it to be at least $95 (which would likely be considered reasonable relative to nearby courses in Canmore)

From 2010 to 2013 the green fees, for Alberta residents, increased from $70 to $78. I would like to see it around $90. Regardless, I'm just happy that the course will be opening again. I enjoyed the two courses at Kananaskis more than any other course in the Calgary region.
Looking through the Kananaskis golf website is wonderful. I love how they are documenting all the work that is being done. It is great to be able to see the steps required for designing and building a course.

Even if it jumps to $100 a round, you can still play both 18s at Kananaskis for pretty much the same price as playing Banff Springs or Stewart Creek or Silvertip. Still incredible value.

I have not looked at the website, but I am assuming they are doing a bunch of work to help prevent flooding and minimize damage - i.e. cover off a once in 200 yr event.
a $100 with a cart would likely still be a solid value in the marketplace

I think the prime time weekend rate for Kananaskis will be in the $125 range. I'd expect the operators to capitalize on the pent up demand for that place.

Booked a couple of tee times for the wife and I at fernie for the next couple of days, they had some interesting pricing in that I grabbed a 3.52 tee time for $45, but the times adjacent to our time were a different price.
