Music on the course used to really bother me and I do prefer to not have it playing. It's so prevalent now I forced myself to deal with it. It doesn't bother me enough to take away from the fact that I'm actually on the course.

Speargrass on Saturday and it is in absolutely immaculate condition. By far the best greens I've played on in this year. It's a tough too far of a drive to do frequently, but I can't stress enough how good of shape it's in. Pace was excellent too, zoomed around in 4 hours on Saturday afternoon. Windy like I've never played anywhere. #4 into a three club wind is a brute! Hit driver, 3 wood, 6 iron to the front edge. #5 lasered 165y to the stick, hit hybrid and barely made the front edge.

If it hadn't rained on Friday night, the course would have been unplayable. It was so windy, you couldn't keep a hat on your head. The ball was oscillating on the greens and the bit of moisture in them was the only thing that made them playable.

Played Valley Ridge today in a bit less wind than Saturday, but enough to give you fits. Course is in really good shape, greens not as nice as Speargrass. I can't understand how that course can justify the green fees. $83 for twilight for that course is such a ripoff.

Played Desert Blume in Medicine Hat today. Nice course, but was so windy was nearly impossible for me. Greens are at a 12, so just ridiculous putting with the wind! Would recommend if you're ever down there though.

What are y'all willing to pay for a same day replay?I've paid $25 at Glen Eagles and $34 at Redwood.
Wolf Creek wanted $5 less than I paid for the first round.
Not many advertise,but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I was quoted in person at Wolf,$70+cart.Website says $60 +cart,for twilight.
I teed off in cold,sketchy weather at full price on the original tee time.Course was empty.Give me a reasonable price on the second round.$5 discount,don't think so.Just my thoughts.

How much is a typical cancellation fee, at WV and other places?
I know our course struggles with 4somes booking for primetime weekend golf and then 2 people show up. they were going to take CC's but the owners nixed that, but a cancellation fee could work, even if it's $20/person.

My buddy and I are going to try to play a decent amount of golf in July/August because he won't be working as much. Are there any good deals on courses around Calgary that offer multi-play cards? We are going to get Murfield punch cards which are 10 rounds including carts for $500 (Monday-Friday.) What other options are there?

Depending on how many rounds you plan on playing, it could make sense to join a club as an annual. If you join after July, most clubs will charge you 50% of the annual dues and you get 3 months of unlimited golf which you can play everyday.

I love the Groupon deal for Strathmore. Can work out to $33/person when you wait for a extra Groupon saving of 20-25% or right now with the $15 dollars off. Either way a good deal.

The Groupon for Lakeside not as good as the course is in rough condition. Didn't enjoy it there.
