Default Firefox Freezing During Google Searches

I did a quick forum search and didn't find anything.

Since upgrading to Firefox Beta 4.11 my browser would freeze whenever I did a google search. I assumed it was the beta, but now that I've got 4.12 it's still happening.

A quick google search (in Chrome) shows that it could be malware, or something in my cookies, but I cleared out everything (through CCleaner) and scanned with McAfee

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm not sure, when I go to google it freezes, I can't even sign into gmail - I'd assume by default it is

Uninstall McAfee.

Use Avast or AVG.

edit: To clarify, both Avast and AVG are the most annoying anti-virus products I have ever used. Both have constant pop-ups and you need to 're-register' every so often to keep using it. The work almost as well as most other AV programs, but MSSE performs as well (or better) than both, isn't annoying as while it does its job and can be updated with Windows update, so it makes it easier for most people.

I dont' use AVG anymore so I can't comment on that product, but I've been using Avast for a couple of years now. I don't remember having to re-register, but I did have to upgraded to the latest version to keep using it with the latest definition updates. I don't get any annoying popups. From the system tray I'll get something saying that the definitions have been updated, but its just a little popup that shows for a couple of seconds, once per day. I don't need to click on anything get rid of it.
