Man, would like to see a list like this broken down by eras. Too many picks wasted on early arcade games. I get that they were amazing in their time, but they don't really represent arcades to me. How do you leave off Samurai Shodown? Or Magic Sword?
Yeah seriously. Why waste a spot on a duplicate pick. Meh, I guess it's a pretty good day when all I have to grind my gears about is a video game list.

I see good games as timeless and they are still amazing to me today. I would still rather play Gorf than many cookie cutter 1990s Arcade games.
Still never got around to building my Mame cabinet. Someday...someday.
BTW, anybody who likes Samurai Shodown has to play Last Blade 1 and 2. Best sword fighting 2D Arcade fighter that will ever be made. Easy to find cheap for Dreamcast and you can buy & download on the Playstation Network today.
Yah, those old school Neo Geo fighting games were pretty awesome back in the day. I used to play a ton of Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, and Samurai Showdown.
WWF Wrestlefest (my tag team was always Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior)
Final Fight (Haggar the ass kicking mayor)
Avengers (America still needs your help!!!)
When I said WWF Royal Rumble, Wrestlefest was what I actually meant. Couldn't remember the name. That game was the best. Was always tough to get at too back in the day, always a crowd around that game. I loved Earthquake's finishing move, when he'd jump all around the guy and then finally give him the big Yokozuna splash. Best.
Should also add - there is a guy on CP who refurbishes arcade games and sells them (posts in the Buy and Sell forum). I did buy a lethal enforcers console off of him @ a reasonable price.
Wow guys I am going to make sure all of these games are on my mame cabinet! I am sure most are all ready now just to find and then play them!
If anyone is interested in building a mame cabinet message gobsghram he will hook you up! He helped me with mine. You can have a cabinet going in a 2 weeks with very minimal work and effort. Feel free to message me with any mame questions and I can try and help out as well

I guess it would be tough to include arcade games from all time periods, as the opinions of people vary even more as you do that...but I have to think that some of the games keeping arcades going today should be in this list.
Racing games are pretty much taken over by card based systems like in Wagnan Midnight Maximum Tune or Initial D. Shooters have evolved into a variety of styles, with the most popular overseas being the bullet hell variety. Ikaruga and Dodonpachi were probably the most notable games to give that genre the new blood it needed to continue.
Music games are fairly stale now. It's just new versions of the same old. I guess that leaves stuff like DDR still on top there.
Here's a strange thought...based on popularity and success, would it be wrong to put in redepmtion games into one of these lists?
What was that arcade game with the high angled view of the dirt track, you had the blue, yellow, and red trucks. Unit came with the steering wheels all side by side. Had dirt jumps and everything. I think there was even a paved track available.
