I've said this many times before, but I want the Flames to get Sean Burke as the goalie coach. He worked wonders with Smith and Dubnyk with the Coyotes.
If Conroy gets poached by the Sabres, maybe that would open the door for Burke to take on the same role he had with the Coyotes, as AGM and Goalie Coach.

I'm not going to pretend to be a goalie coach expert, but I continue to see a few things that I don't like:
1) the way they play the post on bad-angle shots
2) they all seem to lose their confidence with their glove hand
3) they play too deep in the crease
4) they move too aggressively from side to side, instead of remaining more central and controlled
I don't know if these things are Sigalet's fault, but they seem to be consistent and recurring problems with all of our goalies. So, for me, that's on Sigalet.
And I agree with getbak - Burke is who I want

I heard somebody say that Fleury has become much better since he started to see a therapist.
Oh yeah Burke is good, yeah.

Bad rebound control too. I don't recall Elliott being that bad before. Even during his hot streak the difference was that he'd catch more pucks instead of giving rebounds. There was never a point where he was consistently controlling the direction of the rebounds, which is something high quality NHL goalies should be able to do (typically by putting the pucks into the corners).
The Ducks gave trouble to both Elliott and Johnson with low hard shots they couldn't control. Yes the Ducks clearly have practiced that and they do it well, but it shouldn't be THAT much of a problem. Especially when they kept shooting those exact same shots over and over in every game. (Skate to the red line, shoot a low hard puck to the side that's toward the front of the net. See for example the OT goal in game 3.)
If I can see what the Ducks are doing, the goalie coach should see it, and they really should have figured something out.

The most obvious thing for me was When Elliott was playing well he held his glove hand higher. When he was worse he had a lazy glove hand. It is easier/quicker to drop ones hand than it is to raise it, simple physics.

For what it's worth, Gulutzan called out Sigalet specifically in his year end interview with Fan 960 as being a reason why Elliott and Johnson turned things around after a rough start.

That's great but really both goaltenders faultered badly after their winning streaks ended. If Sigalet gets credit for the 6 and 10 game hot streaks what about the mediocre to terrible rest of the season for both goaltenders? He doesn't get faulted for any of that?

Probably been said here, but Martin Brodeur is credited with really tightening up Jake Allen's game. The right guy can make a huge difference. Sigalet's body of work, to me, suggests he's not the right guy.

Allen was garbage to start the season just like Elliot. Was that Brodeur's fault?

Think he started working with Allen after Hitchcock got fired.

Welcome to CP, where Jankowski is defined as "General Chat" and "Darling" means "Search for Goalie Coach".

That's likely. Jim Corsi was the Blues' goalie coach from the start of the season. He was fired along with Hitchcock on February 1. - Prior to Feb 1, Allen's stats: 35 Starts, 17W-13L-2OTL, 0.895 SV%, 2.87 GAA
- After Feb 1, Allen's stats: 25 Starts, 16W-7L-2OTL, 0.938 SV%, 1.35 GAA
