Flames sign Dillon Dube to 3 year ELC
https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flam...be/c-288057300
Quote:
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed forward Dillon Dube to a three-year entry-level contract. He was the Flames second round pick (56th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Dube, a native of Cochrane, Alberta, is playing his third full season with the Western Hockey League's Kelowna Rockets and he has 55 points (20G, 35A) in 40 games this year. The 18-year-old also played for the silver medal-winning Team Canada squad at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Toronto and Montreal earlier this season.

He'll either be with the Flames or back in the WHL, not the AHL.
My bet is WHL though.
(and this contract will slide back a year)

I hope we ink Fox soon, although doubt he would sign this early.

No need to rush, I am guessing he will either play his full 4 years of eligibility in the NCAA then sign with the Flames or play next year and sign at the end of that season.
As for the Dube signing, I really love the type of forwards we are drafting. High IQ , skill and two-way play. I see him and Klimchuk as very similar type players.

Is it true that once a prospect signs an ELC, he cannot go play NCAA anymore because he has "turned pro?" The player either has to go find a team in the juniors or play at the AHL/ECHL if he can't make the NHL lineup?

Yes, a player is no longer NCAA-eligible once he has signed a contract.

the thing I like most about Dube is that he was ticked off about players he figures are not as good as him getting picked ahead of him. And that it motivates him to show it.
