Yeah that makes more sense. Smith was a product of Bergeron/Marchand and Florida got burned for taking him on. Steep price though.

Not 100% true.

He had a decent year last year with 50 points and his advanced stats are still pretty good. His shooting percentage just dropped 5 points this year compared to last year.

I've been supportive of Talon in the past, but this move makes no sense. I have no idea what the plan is for a team that struggled to score last year when they move a 30 goal scorer without having to. Smith struggled to score last year with an uncharacteristically bad shooting percentage (for him) and bad luck, but because of his salary and term, they panic and ship him off before he can show a bounce back performance.

If anyone was wondering what we would have to give up to move Brouwer to Vegas? Something similar to Marchessault's 30 goal performance on an entry level contract would do it.
