They need less awards not more. Lady Byng would be a good one to cut. Players don't even want to win it.
Hart trophy voting should be done after the playoffs. May and June is when you find out who is most valuable to his team, but that part of the season doesn't even count? Or you could just get rid of it. The Ted Lindsay Award should hold more weight because the players vote on it. But for whatever reason nobody even talks about it.
And while I'm at it take the vote away from the media. Too many of them are just using it as a way to push their own agenda. Some of them are incompetent. Like when they made Ovechkin an all star at two positions. The worst are the ones who make oddball picks just to draw attention to themselves. In 2015 Jiri Hudler got a 2nd place vote for the Hart.
OK, I'm done. Baseball writers are the worst though.
