St. Louis has been stockpiling picks and prospects for a few seasons and felt it was due time to make a deal with some of them when the opportunity presented itself.

With the recent acquisition of Suter as well, the Blues feel they have made a significant improvement to their defense core which still contains familiar names Anton Straalman, Dion Phaneuf and Mark Pysyk.

Gotta give credit to Hesla, we prob had 1000 PM exchanges and we both stuck to our guns and wouldn't budge. The old Hesla would have caved and traded me McDonagh. The new one is obviously very patient.
