One of the worst examples of prosecution performance, I think they took a lot for granted. I will also give credit to the defence team, they were flawless and really eviscerated the prosecution on a couple of fronts and put the cop on trial too. Couple with racial tensions and a murderer went free. It’s hard to say the system worked as we all know it didn’t but the beyond reasonable doubt is supposed to ensure innocent people don’t get put away. In this case it worked the wrong way.

So there is an episode of The Simpsons called "Who Shot Mr. Burns (part 2)". There is one bit where DNA evidence is used, and the computer narrows is down to the family bloodline of "Simpson".

Bart: "DNA evidence, positive ID. Those won't hold up in any court."
Lisa: "They have Simpson DNA, it could have come from any of us."

At the time, I thought this was a direct reference to the OJ case, as The Simpsons writers were known to throw in very current-event relevant gags.

Episode Airdate: September 17, 1995
OJ case verdict: October 3, 1995

Of course, the episode would have been written and animated months before the airdate, but the OJ case was dominating the news media since the trial started in November 1994.

Dunno how true they are but starting to see some stories of OJ's time at USC and there are not pretty.

I'm more keen on if the guy finally admitted anything to those around him on what happened. Interestingly there are stories that his family and friends came to visit him in his last days and each had to sign NDAs. His kids with Nicole also showed up and were there when he passed. I'd be very curious to hear if he admitted to anything explicitly. In a persons last moments I'm sure he'd want to come clear of his conscience.

I heard they couldn’t fit him into the coffin.

And the family is now suing the coffin maker. Apparently he told them: “don’t worry, I’ll make it fit like a glove”
