If you google it I think you will find some discussion as to why larger events (like those held @ the Stampede Corral or Max Bell Arena) have waned in Calgary.

That is absolutely bizarre. I have never heard of a city body licensing something like this, although I'm mostly familiar with US licensing.

Just beat someone up and take it. They'll respect you for it.

I think JDS/Overeem is May 26th, and Faber/Cruz are rumored to be on the July 7th card in Vegas.
What about Jones/Hendo? If Jones can get through Evans without too much problem, he would have three months to be ready for a rested Henderson. That would be pretty sweet.

It's the way it's done here in Alberta for sure. I was on the Lethbridge Boxing and Wrestling Commission for a few years actually. Suffice it to say we didn't have any events as cool as a UFC during my tenure though!

Oh okay got it.
Jones/Evans vs Hendo makes sense. I would love to see Hendo live!
The winner of Edgar/Henderson and Diaz/Miller would make sense too.
That's if their is a title fight, very well might not be.

First the Trekkies invade, next the MMA crowd....Calgary's a city on the grow grow grow!
It is a big money maker though, the 'Dome should be full.
I remember being in Vegas the day before an event down there 2 years ago...impromptu "play" fights in the lobby of the MGM, and if I had some extra cash laying around, it was a great ad for buying some stock in Axe Body Spray.

Would love it if true. I can't wait for confirmation on this as well as to the possible fight card.

Useful and helpful things are found in that section of the Drug Store. Anyone who has ever sported an Affliction or Ed Hardy tee has never been as useful as a tampon.
Cute analogy, but flawed.

I'm surprised Calgary was guaranteed two shows in the next two years.

I looked @ ticketmaster.com just now and you can get UFC 145 (Atlanta) tickets for as cheap as $62 all in, so I have to think the Calgary tickets will be much cheaper upon official release. With that said, I think one will likely have to buy/already have a fight club membership to even have a chance of getting tickets on ticketmaster.

Pretty much agree with you here. There's no way the UFC could get away with charging any more than they did for UFC 140 in Toronto, and it's more likely to be in line with what they're charging for UFC 145 in Atlanta. The rumours of $1500 lower bowl tickets in Calgary are ridiculous.
