Grr. Every. Damn. DAY. 30 to 40 km/h headwinds from the South. I am so jealous of you folks that get to just sit there while wind blows you home

Perhaps you guys can request that after flattening down the hills, the City turn down the wind a touch.

Turn down the what......it was breezy out there. Had to ride into it on the way home and could barely break the 25kph barrier

I stupidly went out again with a buddy in that wind. Throw in a lot more people on the paths and it was a slow 30km.

Ktrain - if you are ever looking to side step some of the crowds, come thru new Brighton and take the path that runs parallel to Stoney trail. You have o ride on the road a bit, but youmcan pick up the path along the canal and ride to chestermere if you wish.

Would have been tough tonight with the wind though as it is wide open.....but way less foot traffic right now

I'll have to check that out. I didn't know that was there. I usually just take 52nd all the way to the canal path.

I flagged the stop signs on 5th st between 50th ave and Stanley park asking them to be converted to 4-way stops so I can blow through them.

I have likely said this already this year, but best morning of the year to cycle commute in. 12 degrees at 6 am.......threw new brake pads in my commuter last night, huge difference, brakes and nice and quiet now.......never ceases to blow my mind how my commute it 17k on pathways and a few roads - the number of times I meet up with other people at the anrrow portions of the path reltive to the more wide open portions is astounding....

Kind of a pain now that the south side of the Peace Bridge path to the cycle track is closed. I'll probably switch to 10th st/lrt bridge until they finish this. Too much chaos right now. Unfortunately the completion date is "we have no idea" according to the sign.

I kind of love the Nose Creek system as it's so quiet compared to a lot of the others. The Bow river system, i can't imagine.

The Bow River paths are busy but everyone gets a "good morning" regardless.

Outside of the occasional person who has slept in the bushes, I don't know if I've ever seen someone in a bad mood along the path in the morning. Especially on these beautiful mornings. Easily the best way to start the day.

The wait should be worth it for getting that cool Delta Garden in that area and improved pathways eastbound to the Jaipur bridge area. With a dedicated cycling lane.

And yes, another beautiful morning to ride in.

A few longer commutes and an extra ride last night let me reach the May Distance Challenge (1250km). That was harder than I thought it'd be and I doubt I'll do it again. It's a lot of time on the bike.

Also passed the 4000km mark on the year. My original goal in January was 5000 so I bumped it to 8000km. Eventually I'll get to 10,000.

Anyone know what's going on with those closures at Eau Claire? I saw the fences the last couple days and then got stopped this morning just past 10th St, so had to bike on the street the rest of the way. Guess it's back to the cycle track commute for me for a while.

Great job!!I think I'm at 2200 for the year. This weekend I'll have a chance to finally get a good long ride in. Looking forward to it!

West Eau Claire public realm improvements, short(ish) term pain for long term gain for us:
