Can you get away with say Versteeg with the pair, move Tkachuk down and create three good lines? Or does Tkachuk without the pair drop quite a bit making the third line a nightmare?
Wouldn't Brouwer make more sense to put with them? Unless he drags them down to I guess.

Brouwer is usually RW.

i) get him some more space with more talented guys, at least on PP.
ii) if it doens't help it's getting to pretty tough question whether to keep him at center and hope for later development or make him winger. I'm not sure what would i do now.

If we stuck Bennett on the 1st or 2nd line as a winger, he would probably be quite comparable so Bingo's point remains valid. Another element is that Bennett is learning to drive the play of his own line, which it took Backlund several years to learn. I think over the next few years, we will start to see Bennett's line take over dominance similar to how Backlund's line has become the #1.
Backlund sucked for 7 seasons! One magic wonder season does not compensate it and does not guarantee he'll play like this next 5 yrs.

Sam Bennett wanted to add more muscle and get bigger over the last summer and I think that might have hurt him. He kind of looks a little slow out there and one of the problems might be that Sam had focused on adding weight and getting bigger, that he might have over done it. But that is ok because he is a young guy and he will learn.

What I wish/hope the Flames do in the summer is, get Sam Bennett to work out with Gary Roberts(I don't know who Sam's trainers are in the summer). Matthew Tkachuk, worked out with Gary Roberts and it helped him a lot.

So I think the line mate thing has some merit. My question is if this is actually a criticism of the flames development process? Highest draft pick of the franchise, should they have done more or be doing more to put him in a position to succeed.

I don't really know my opinion on this, but is it a debatable topic?

I never realized how incoherent Cherry was as a speaker until I started reading those captions. He can barely put together a full sentence because he's always reacting/commenting on the reply mid-speech. LOL.

Only Canadians can truly understand what he's saying.
