Flames are holding out for a 1st rounder.

They may be the most interested but I'm not sure that makes them the front runners. Especially if they aren't offering a first.

according to LeBrun no one has offered a 1st yet. Seems like Dallas has the best package on the table right now. Game of chicken to see if anyone offers a 1st before the deadline.

If they can get Bourque and a 2nd, does it really matter if they get a 1st? They won't get Bourque and a 1st, 1st is likely at or a few picks from the last pick in the 1st round.
Bourque was a 1st and has played well since he was drafted. The odds of drafting a NHLer in the 2nd vs a late first isn't dramatically different. Take Bourque and a lessor pick IMO.
If you can get both fine, but I doubt you can and the Flames draft well past the 1st round. Just keep adding bullets and NHL ready prospects.

Obviously feel free to holdout for better, but having the best offer right now probably looks like:
'24 second
'25 fifth (NJ)

I value Bourque as a late first. I don't think he's on the table for Tanev.

Bourque is worth more than a late 1st in an average draft so it won't be "Bourque and a 2nd".
Offers are probably a "2nd round pick and C prospect".
Conroy should be holding out for Bourque OR a 1st round pick.
