White has been really good but isn’t on the 40 man after being DFA’d. Not sure if you want to make room for him for a start.

I wasn't really being serious. It was more a joke because of fans being overjoyed when he finally was DFA'd.

Apparently he's regularly hitting 97mph. He could prove to be good depth for next year...I believe that they need to get him back on the 40 man to keep him from a rule 5 claim.

The Astros winning Saturday night helps, but, the Jays and Astros both winning their Sunday game and the Rangers losing would have the Jays facing the Twins.

Others maybe already knew about this but I'm listening to the Fan590 right now out in Toronto and Hazel is on talking about what he's had to deal with on his personal side with his mom and how much it's weighed on him all season. I didn't know about this and put his "down season" (by Vladdy standards) into perspective for me.

Lets go Texas loss, Houston win, and Jays win. Best case scenario as the Jays can still win and play Minnesota.

Not sure we should be hoping for the Twins. They hit Gausman hard this year and their pitching is just as good if not better than the Rays. They also have a ton of power in their lineup.

I'd be shocked if the Jays don't get swept by the Rays/Twins, let alone win the series.

Jay Jackson was DFA’d to make room for the starter. Does that mean anything for playoff availability? I thought he pitched well for the jays, eating up middle innings.

He isn’t on the roster anymore. So he won’t be on playoff roster.

Not sure he was going to be on roster in the playoffs anyways.

Shi Davidi just said he can get on the playoff roster if there's an injury or if they made it 15 games into the playoffs which I imagine would be the World Series?

All this talk of Julio Rodriguez being a franchise player and Vladdy and Bichette not, yet

Rodriguez last 7 games ops of .480

Vladdy .999
Bichette 1.005

Showing up when your team needs you.

To be fair Julio was the only reason the Mariners were remotely close at all. His August was absurd and that's the only month the Mariners played above .500 ball.

Any team that comes out of the AL Central needs their stats to be taken with a grain of salt. When you play half your games against 4 of the bottom 6 teams in the AL you will get some skewed numbers. Head to head the Rays and Twins have played the Jays similarly. The big difference is historically the Jays have mashed at Target Field. Not so much at the Trop. I'd do anything I could to avoid the Trop. It's also a terrible atmosphere for playoff baseball.

Looking back over the course of the season it's interesting to think about how the 2B position ebbed and flowed. At various points in the season Merrifield, Schneider and Biggio have all been The Guy but none have been able to sustain the high level of play. The last 3 months in particular it's been Merrifield in July, Schneider in August and now Biggio in September. Will Biggio finally be the one to hold down the #1 spot? Or will he go cold and we have to hope one of the others gets hot again? Although even if his bat does go cold he's been playing great defence and baserunning so that should earn him a longer leash.
