This kid's going to be really, really good when he gets closer to his prime. He's one of those rare talented kids that has that hard nosed dimension to his game.
Maybe it's time for him to get one of those "stalker" ads that they seem to revel in up north: Bennett in the McJesus role and maybe Lanny in the Messier role.
Or maybe not a good idea - too Oilerish.

He's a hybrid sniper/power forward when he puts it all together. Yeah, I said it. He's got some power forward in him. He fore-checks hard. Hits like a truck. Isn't afraid to mix things up. He wins board battles. But he can also dangle and snipe.
All three teams are definitely happy with the guy they have. (Oilers, Sabres, Flames) There is a case for each one being the best. Could also throw Ekblad into that mix.

Yeah what a disaster so far, what with the more goals and same amount of points...
Our Sam is 8 months younger and has two fewer goals. When he plays next season, that would be a better comparable in terms of comparing production. All three players are very good though. None of the top 4 got a sucker pick, the Islanders and Canucks both did though.

Yes, agreed. Wasn't trying to pull a 'Reinhart is better!' card, just a 'Bennett isn't necessarily way better' point.
Reinhart had a slow start and a Bennett had a big ol' slump, both young players learning the game. They play very differently though. Bennett plays more intensity so it's easy to look at him and go "Wow he's amazing!" whereas Reinhart is more of a behind-the-scenes player, methodically making good things happen, making good decisions and being in the right place at the right time. If you didn't watch Sabres games (I assume most here don't), his talent is easy to overlook.

Honestly, who cares right now
Bennett had a great game, but there's no point arguing which of the two is better as of yet. They're two great young players who will be stars for years to come.

I would disagree here. You compare guys to their draft class regardless of age.
But all the top 4 guys are going to be great players.

Of the 3 forwards Draisaitl is looking the best right now based purely on production, hard to discount a PPG player, but also it hasn't really helped the team get any better.
Bennett has had struggles producing, but has always been able to impact the game in multiple ways, was getting chances, and also plays physical.
Reinhart struggled to fit in, and didn't even look very good to start, but has really started to come around recently.
