Default BoA Oilers @ Flames - 7:00 - SNetW

Sorry, I just remembered the boys are back on the ice tonight. I'm out with my son doing some Christmas returns (quick post from the Futureshop parking lot).

Go Flames.

Yup, heres hopin Monahan can get a bit of a streak goin and begin to over take Hertl for the Calder race in the back half of the season.

Also, hoping to hear about Stajan and his possible injury status.

GFG!

Go Flames.
That's dedication. Looking forward to your full GDT posts in the near future HD. Enjoy the day with your son.

I can't wait to lay a beat down on the Oilers tonight. It's been coming ever since that meltdown where we let them back in the game. The goaltending has settled in a bit more and the defense has started to figure itself out (although with Russell out it is hurting for a bit again). I really doubt you see the Flames implode the way they did the last time.

Backlund and Byron have been beasts of late, Cammy is chipping in some goals, and everyone else has filled their roles well. I'm just hoping we score more than a couple of goals as offense has been hit or miss lately.

I'm hoping for an embarrassing loss for the Oilers. Somewhere on the level of 6-0 in the favor of the Flames would be great.

Hey now. He looked pretty solid vs the Blues and shut them down from the start of the 3rd.

Ok well so much for 14+ mins for Monahan. He will have to dominate his 2 shifts in the first period to move up or Colborne will have to suck to move down.

During the Blues game, I predicted a hat trick for Monahan tonight, so I'm going to stick with that. Also, a multi-point, multi-fight night for Big Ern.

First regulation time win for Berra.

All the joy in Oilerville disappears after just 3 days. Someone tosses their Oiler jersey into the bench, and it lands on Eakins' head and he flips the F out. It's the only emotion anyone on the Oilers shows all night.

People need to calm down about Monahan's ice time. He'll get eased back into the role. Hartley is playing him softer minutes because while you have a fractured foot you're unable to go and work in the gym with the guys, go skate with everybody, get the workouts in. As a result, he'll be slower and rustier upon return for a little while.

He'd be doing even worse if Hartley slotted him right back into his 2C position.

Flames win 5-2. Monahan with 2. Giordano smashes Yakupov through the door to the Flames bench. Burke and Lowe get into it in the press box during the third period.

I'd also prefer we not have our leading point producer paired with Colborne and Playey McKilly ... but what do I know?
