Default Cleaning dog pee on carpet

Since moving to our new house our little friend beast has taken to marking on the high end carpets in two rooms. His breed is notoriously difficult to house train and he is a rescue dog who was not neutered he was young, so we are doing our best to modify the behavior, but it is definitely an uphill battle. We have the Bissel pet vacuum to clean up the spots, but he does seem to go back to the same spots regularly. From the CP hive mind, any other ideas to try and clean all the spots and start from scratch?

The thing is the pee gets into the underlay, and even into the plywood underneath if it's enough, and cleaning the carpet usually won't get it out of there.

I had one rental where their dog had peed in several places, I had to replace the carpet and underlay and I even painted the places in the plywood with Killz to seal in the odour.

Proxy ... should be able to buy it at a cleaning supply store. We had two older cats who had some accidents when their health was failing. Proxy took care of it, scent and all.
These were significant areas behind furniture that had been soiled multiple times.
Stuff also works on blood, vomit and most other things a kid or animal can throw at it

Yes, it's a peroxide based spray.
There is also a two part one called Esteam which is supposed to be even better ... we haven't had to use it because the Proxy worked so well

I thought that everyone knew that the best way to clean dog pee is with human pee. It's the same principal as a jellyfish bite.

We use that Bissell deep spot cleaning machine. And then we add the Bissell detergent and the Oxy boost liquid (or 3% hydrogen peroxide solution) to water and it does a really good job. I find you get best results if you push the vacuum head down with your other hand firmly against the carpet in order to suck out as much liquid as possible.

We have had luck with this stuff. As long as we got it right away. Don't think it'd be as effective on old stains.

You need a biological agent to get rid of the smell, no cleaners really work that well. Something like this works really well. https://urineoff.com/ Once you apply this properly, it will kill the smell, then use a cleaner after is the best results.

If you want to keep your house clean and help prevent this sort of thing, don't let your dog in these areas with expensive carpets if he/she is going to be, maybe invest in some puppy pads and put them in those rooms, on those spots he/she likes to pee. Once they learn this is good (the new spot, praise her/him and give treats, get excited), you can leave the pads near say the back door or front door, once they get the idea you give them a lot of praise, pets, treats etc.

We fostered a little chihuahua and had similar issues. She would always kind of try to hide from us, but would tend to find rugs instead (we have tile and hardwood everywhere else she was allowed to go) and do her business there, we started using puppy pads and praising her when ever she would go on them, and say outside when she was going. After about 2 weeks, she learned that she had to wait and go outside. My sister's 14 year old dog has always had spotting issues and they just took out all the carpets in the house, that is another way to deal with it if you are going to have pets (this seems extreme!).

Anyway, you need a natural agent to get rid of the smell (for the dogs, as they smell way better than we do), then something to deep clean and lift that stains off and smells clean again.
