To this day I can't understand why he was sent down. Zero merit in that defision if you're tryin to ice the best roster.

Useful role player. Plenty of guys like Hathaway out there, but why not hang on to your home-grown.

2 way contract doesn't hurt either.

Would love for him to stay with the club fulltime on the 4th line, or even rotating out of the press box if necessary.

Also just to make sure it looks like he's no longer waiver exempt?

Flames players that LOST their waiver exempt status and will need to be exposed to waivers for the first time to be sent to the AHL:

Lazar*
Bennett*
Shinkaruk
Poirier
Hathaway
Kulak

*technically lost it by NHL games played during the 16/17 season

Loved what he brought to the team.

-Good size and uses it
-Wins battles or relentless puck pursuit if he loses
-Pure shift disturber
-Solid two-way play
-Excellent work ethic
-Fearless in the "tough" areas, corners, boards, in front of the net
-Gets under opponents skin, draws penalties, creates a spark for the team.

Not the fastest guy but has some hockey IQ. I think he has more untapped offensive skill than we've seen at the NHL level.

Calgary 26 GP, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 pts, 0+/- playing 9:08 average ice a game.

In Stockton: 31 GP, 8 goals, 12 assists, 20 pts, +22.

Added 2 goals and 2 assists for 4 points in 5 Heat playoff games.

Glad to have him back, hope he forces his way onto the team with his hard work and grit. I like watching that guy play.

Weird. I seem to recall him as being an elite and powerful skater

The type of guy who will absolutely stick up for his team mates as well and that is important to have. Love the energy he brings

Not sure if this is sarcastic or not.

He does have a good motor and keeps his legs moving but I don't think he is explosive and hes certainly not keeping up to fast players in his first three strides.

But I certainly don't think his skating is below NHL level in anyway.

On the topic of his speed I know it doesn't mean very much, but he was 1 of 3 to compete in the fastest skater comp at the flames skills competition. I recall someone saying his fitness and endurance is near the tops of the team along with Giordano.

I'm still annoyed that he didn't get called up for the Ducks series and that some posters actually agreed with the decision to keep him out of the lineup. Outside of a decent goaltender, he was precisely the type of player we could have used in that series.

In case anyone was wondering, capgeek has confirmed the contract to be $650k NHL/ $150k AHL with $190k guaranteed minor league salary.

His QO would have been $715k NHL salary
