Terrible news. He got knocked out hard at a boxing event in Edmonton yesterday, and suffered a serious brain injury ... Tragic news.
I saw the video of the fight and that didn't look good. His head bounced off the mat hard and he was out cold. I guess he had been training sort of PT whereas his opponent was training fulltime and a much better fighter.
In other KO's though, the Holm knockout of Correira was kind of hilarious. I don't have a link to it, but basically Correira was baiting her and waving at her to come in fight to mix it up, and then it was over.

It was pretty much the only significant strike of the 3 round fight, timing was dead on. As soon as Correira started to make th motion again, wack.
Good for Holly, she really need that

Main card in Edmonton in September (UFC 215) actually looks pretty damn good.
-Flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and Ray Borg
-Women's bantamweight title bout between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko
-Junior dos Santos vs. Francis Ngannou
-Jeremy Stephens vs. Gilbert Melendez
-Henry Cejedo vs. Wilson Reis
Western Canada does have a small history of being screwed line up wise. I expect some changes prior to the show. JDS probably realizing he'll be pulverized and backs out. /s
On paper that's a very good show. I was mocked for suggesting several weeks ago (on Twitter) that Mighty Mouse would likely end up main eventing this one. UFC loves booking the smaller guys in Western Canada.
It's such a shame that Jon Jones wasted the last 3+ years being an idiot.
The guy is a one of a kind fighter. He's just a killer in the octagon.
Hopefully the dumb #### is behind him and he just dominates again.
The length and reach is just unfair.
Cormier was getting the better punches when he could get in tight but he just had to work so hard and walk through so many Jones kicks and punches to get in close enough to land.
Perfectly timed kick though and set it up perfectly with all the leg kicks. Wanted Cormier to win if only so there would have been a 3rd fight and or Jones would have had to fight through the division again.
