Why? Skating? He's a Hobey winner so he can't be bad; but lots of Hobey winners don't make the show so no big surprise.

Poor skating and not elite offensively. All poor attributes to have as a 5'10'' defenceman.
Hobey Baker is not just a best player in NCAA hockey award, there are academics and off ice attributes to it as well. Especially when it is awarded to seniors.

Very weird, went to U of Denver and drafted by Colorado. If there is any team that has opportunity on the blueline you would think it is Colorado.
Maybe Colorado is screwing him around on ELC bonuses or something.
