Better than anything I could do but not a fan, all I see is a big oval.

You better believe I tried that idea too!
The alternate in the roundel is too busy, but I never tried the simplified version you have next. I really dig that.

Loving Muta's grey version of the logo. Sleek, simple, and modern. I love how the flames stand out with the grey.

That's not an orca. Anyone that tells you that is a "smiling whale" is a frickin idiot.

REALLY quick idea, so pardon the terrible weight. I'm not sold on the idea yet, but riffing off of Muta and alltherage's concepts:

Going with the theme of the callout bubble and trying to get a puck into it somehow I sketched this up with my mad paint skillz. If someone who actually knows what they are doing wants to run with it and actually make it look decent, have at'er.

Here, I made one with proper rink dimensions in the negative space; I also shrank the width of the speech bubble stem.

How the hell is this an orca? It looks a lot like a hockey stick in a rink to me.

It's kind of nice to see everyone working together on a logo.

Maybe a puck shape within Muta's speech bubble concept? No design skills either.
Edit: The negative space already looks a bit like a puck.

I like the symmetry of these. What if you coloured the tips of the end of the c and beginning of the p red to signify a red line in the rink. Subtle touch.
