Would take him for sure. But not sure what the ask would be.

Do a 3-way trade - Dougie to Winnipeg, Trouba to Anaheim, and Lindholm to the Flames.

Again, Anaheim wants to trade Lindholm only because they can't play him 5.5M+. Therefore, Trouba is out of the question

I believe in the Pony Power

So do the Ducks have to save cap in a deal, or is this just a case of them not wanting to pay him what he wants?
Just for shiggles how about
Sam+Stajan (cap dump) for Lindholm+Rackell or Silfverberg.
Edit: Too much cap tied up in the D. Something involving Hamilton would be better but doesn't seem to be a fit.
Oilers should have held on to Hall and swapped him for Lindholm.

Ducks would be dumb to trade Lindholm just because he wants 5.5+. I can't see it happening.

They have no cap space. So a trade might just be picks.

No, it can be a trade for anyone. They just send a cap dump back along the way.

There's a thing called eating/retaining salary.
The question is, is the player coming back worth doing so. Not sure the Flames would have the desire to do so. There's gotta be a salary dump contract the ducks could send this way.

Ducks have no choice but to trade him for cap reasons.

Well that's only if Anaheim has a player that would be considered a cap dump.
Really, their only overpaid player is Kevin Bieksa and they still need him especially if giving up Lindholm.

I would be trading other players to make room for Lindholm, rather than trading Lindholm himself.

Like who? Take a look at their roster and payroll, there is pretty much no one they can trade who makes any significant amount of money.
The only guy would be Kesler and they're a much better team with Kesler than with Lindholm.

Lindholm could be a top pairing defenceman in this league for the next 10+ years. I'm not sure I would take anyone else on the Ducks over him.
You make room for these types of players.
