So what is the deal with this Sony "preshow"? Is this the official conference or just extra stuff they're not including the actual stage show?
I was just thinking that. I thought the thing started at 6:00pm and I tuned in late and it was this weird talk show thing. I'm assuming there's a real show coming soon.
Possibly a dumb question, as I've never bought a video game through Amazon before. If I pre-ordered that in the link above, would Ubisoft count that as an official pre-order (and thus ensuring I get the Secrets of the First Pyramids bonus mission)? Or would that only qualify through specific game or electronic retailers like EB, Best Buy, etc?

Yes, you will get the pre-order bonuses.
The only bonuses you wouldn't get would be any that were listed as exclusive to a specific retailer, but those don't seem to happen much anymore.

Lots of cool looking games -- only problem is I won't be playing most of them until next year!
Surprised on the Shadow of the Colossus remake, very cool.
Disappointed in no Sucker Punch, it's been a long time since their last time. And who knows if 'Dreams' from Media Molecule will ever actually come out, it's gone dark for a while now.
Yea, Sony didn't really show anything unexpected. A little disappointing. The stuff they did show looked great, but I was hoping for something new.
I was kind of expecting it -- I mean, most of the big/exciting games they announced last E3 weren't released yet. There's only so much new stuff you can show if the new stuff you showed last time is still in development (and at least 7 months away from release). I thought they'd drop one big new IP/sequel on us though..
Think the big announcements were supposed to be SotC and MH:Worlds. Probably felt that was similar to Last Guarduan and FF:VII annoucements.
Don't really mind them taking this as a bit of a reset though. As OutOfTheCube mentioned they kind of had a bad habit of announcing games that were 24+ months out and that isn't great.
With big shows twice a year now (PSX and E3) they can try to announce things more in that 6-18 month window - which is much better IMO.
Ubisoft is probably the best conference so far at this point.
