Great way to try and light a fire under Monahan!
And I agree - the defensive pairings are as they should be. The best way to get Giordano back to being Giordano is have him playing with Brodie.

Favorite line pairings yet. I have been very interested to see bennett and monahan for a while. Monahan will need to get his feet moving tonight ( hes been standing still) if he wants to keep up.
Also Backlund getting a shot with actual talent.
Defensive Pairings are perfect for tonight.

If these line combinations don't get everyone going I don't know what will.
Everyone but Russell and Hamilton I guess. That pairing could be a disaster, just as Hamilton is getting his confidence back up.
That first line is scary if they click. Johnny and Sam need to keep doing their thing and all Monny will have to do is play a tough forechecking game to make it a big success.

I've been on Hartley for the team coming out flat but I give him credit for trying to stir things up with this line-up. I like the thinking. Backlund and Monahan both need to step it up, and this looks like it could be a catalyst for both of them. I think Stajan should be playing third line and Jooris belongs on the fourth, and I think Wideman deserves to be demoted to third pairing rather than playing 25 minutes a game. And it looks more and more like Gio needs Brodie more than vice versa. If this doesn't work, you can't say Hartley didn't try.

Backlund doesn't deserve to be between Hudler and Frolik
Give Stajan a go with them - why not
Also like Hamilton back in the top 4 but wished he would have been paired with Brodie as that seems like the long term pair for the team and Brodie makes everyone look/play better

Anyone know if Couturier is playing? He's been out for a couple weeks with a concussion thanks to Rinaldo. Last I heard was he may play tonight, but that was a few days ago.
