This is kind of big as the UK was the only European country where the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3. That's a pretty significant shift, especially since the Xbox One launched earlier there
I hate to break it to you but Asia is a market that doesn't count for #### these days. ...
Yeah, I remembered complaints about the original Xbox was it was too big for Japan's living area. It'll be hard for Asian gamers to store multiple consoles, controllers and chargers at home. Handheld gaming makes more sense to them.
Similarly, he found that Forza Motorsport would ramp up the gameplay based on his heart-rate. Things would get more intense if he was less excited to get his adrenaline going.
Would be cool if the game actually did that, which it doesn't.
Forza 5 just uses the Kinect for head tracking and such.
Can't you guys just enjoy your consoles? Does it make you like your PS4/XB1 less if it's not winning ultimate sales? It's like the silly cell phone fanboy war where people get mad if you don't share their opinion on best cell phone OS.
All I will say before people start arguing about regions is that North America is the main market if you are looking for software attachment as Microsoft won only that market and sold considerably more software than PS3 even though they were both neck and neck in worldwide sales. I understood that it was Microsoft that was having yield issues with the XB1 and Sony was having no issues making PS4's so it is interesting that Sony didn't have enough consoles to sell during the biggest shopping weekend of the year in the most important market.
I am buying one of each, somebody else was posting supposed sales numbers so just put in my two sense (that the PS4 will likely sell more) you guys are the ones getting all butt hurt by the facts. Sony released a week earlier and have sold more consoles so obviously they have less supply now
You call me out for the "silly fan war" when somebody else posted the supposed black friday sales numbers first

is the xb1 still roughly 100 more than the ps4?

Unlike most people here I own both and an informed opinion and for you it's pretty obvious the XB1 is the choice for you because; a) your friends are getting them and b) you aren't a hardcore gamer. The XB1 has much more to offer for casual gamers as it functions as a media hub and the PS4 is strictly a game console. If all you did was play games all the time I would lean to the PS4 because it's cheaper but that's not you.
I will get the ps4 when I can find it.
the main reason why I like the xb1 is because most of my friends have it, I could find an xb1, and I got it for what a ps4 would cost.

Ya I think TorqueDog's friend is either yanking his chain or is seeing things. That'd be an awesome feature though... Left 4 Dead discussed doing that kind of thing but only based off what the game was doing. To hook it up to actual metrics would be pretty amazing.

Possibly seeing things, I'll see what happens with my own copy of the game and report back. It's entirely possible I heard him incorrectly and he was still talking about DR3.
That said, the fact that Kinect is still being used to influence gameplay is sweet.
I'm done the campaign on Ghost and I'm looking for another PS4 game...
I love it. Graphics are amazing and they mix up the gameplay between stealth missions, all out sword fights and sea battles. So it keeps things fresh. I really like sailing and exploring the islands, so it's very easy to get off the main mission track.

This could go into the cyber Monday thread but this seems like a good deal to me. It is a day 1 Xbox one bundle and saves $50 (although that is the extended warranty).
^^^ Did you have the camera on? It musta saw your mustache...
Last week I got my hippie mop cut to full buzz on the sides and flat top and my XB1 wouldn't recognize me and I had to get it to re-snap a picture of me. To be fair my head shrunk quite a bit after the haircut.

Same thing happened to my daughter when she pulled her curly hair back into a tight ponytail. Just had to tell Kinect it didn't recognize her during the log in and it logs more data to better recognize later etc.
And my point not very well articulated point on Black Friday was what you mentioned...not providing many consoles for sale on the biggest shopping day in the biggest market in the world was curious to me. Seems they could have staggered the roll out differently while not essentially ignoring the US market on that day.
Either way, thus far I'm quite happy with the One and if/when things get fleshed out I think the interface will prove to be extremely effective. It already is IMO....voice commands are working at over 95% of the time in a house with quite a bit of ambient noise (kids, dishwasher, a horrendously noisy dih network box fan etc). In fact I've only repeated myself once the last 3 days. I love the snap feature even just for silly things like firing up a game during intermission and having it in the top corner so you know when the next period has started. I think it will become quite powerful when the apps themselves really integrate the voice control.
