-One of those seasons, guys have off years where they look bad.
-Pressure of big contract. First year with big deal.
-New coach, bad coach? Whole team is struggling offensively, pretty much everyones numbers is down
-Off ice issues, partying, out late
-Unknown reasons, something we know nothing about, family stuff
-Hiding an injury; wrist still hurting cam back too early?

Maybe it's one of these things, maybe it's none of them, maybe it's a combination of several.

Excusable, not excusable it's a fact of Sports unfortunately. Guys are going to have off years. Really doubt the Kings are thrilled Anze Kopitar is on pace to score a goal for every million he's paid this season but it happens and I haven't the foggiest season why he's had a poor year but I'm sure there are a plethora of potential reasons why.
