I think it's safe to say he wouldn't cut it. His main positive attribute was his blazing speed, and the guy will have lost a few gears. Not to mention he didn't cut it in the Finnish league... Ville Nieminen is an offensive dynamo over there.
Shame he never lived up to his billing.
His best season in the NHL he was a -46, so... Perhaps he could be the new whipping boy, to take the heat off of Butler?

Yeah, but on a team that bad, -46 was practically a badge of honour. It meant that you sucked less than anybody else, so you got all the tough matchups.
Even Mario Lemieux was a minus player on that team.
