Just to pass on my experience:

I added the free distinctive ring as I have a fax machine at home. You get a new number that will cause a different ring to sound on your main line. They gave me a choice of 3 different distinctive rings, but none of them were recognized by my fax machine. I asked if they could use one of the distinctive rings that my fax machine recognized, and they were able to accomodate me.

So now, I essentially have a separate fax number that my fax machine will automatically pick up. And all for free, too!

It's stuff like this that can help build loyalty, as far as I'm concerned.

I've been using distinctive ring for years, I wonder if Shaw Direct counts, this might save me a few bucks.

I use my Shaw Friends Concierge Service almost exclusively when dealing with contacting Shaw. Adding a package or removing it, and when I upgraded to my Gateway, although I had to call in to deal with giving CC details for EasyOwn.

A concierge is a dude at a hotel you treats you well by getting you stuff, kind of like a butler I guess.

It is what Shaw has called their 'members only' online chat support
