Even though it was with the Leafs I will always remember Toskala for this.
Funny, but I feel bad for goaltenders when that kinda thing happens.
MANY years ago, despite my memory being usually hazy, I remember Robert Reichel scoring on a slapshot from around center against (i think) the Hawks. He hit the puck while it was on edge, and it basically curved like a golf slice and totally handcuffed the goalie from a long distance.
The Flames get outplayed badly but win 3-2 to move above .500 for the first time this season. Danny Taylor surprises everyone by putting on a clinic.

I feel bad for Toskala, but that was a TERRIBLE play. I don't mean to sound rude, but that was downright ridiculous. I mean, seriously, he put his glove in position under the puck. It's not as if he had his glove in position before the bounce
When was the last time we had a goalie 'controversy?'
I think it was with Cujo? Or was it Toskala?
I cant remember, I do remember it being laughable though.
Joseph, who came in down 3-0 in 2008 Game 2, just before the Sarich hit, he shutout the Sharks.
Then he came in again in Game 7 after the Flames were up 2-1, then down 5-2 near the end of the second.
There was talk after that Game 3 if he should play more that series. The Flames lost 2 of the next 3 by a goal.
Toskala played that so badly, too. Didn't even bother to get his body in front of it, he just went for the glove hand grab.
He did put his body in front of it. The puck not only bounced really high, it also bounced sideways - enough so that almost any goalie in the league might have been made to look awful by that play.

Yeah, I seem to remember seeing it from a different angle above and behind the net that showed that even though the puck was bouncing the whole way, it was coming in in a straight line. It was only on the last bounce that it decided to make a 20 degree right turn.
Vesa should have stacked the pads Billy Ranford style.
