It's looking epic for Castle. Various forecasts have up to 96 cm by Monday AM.

I'm gonna have to go Monday. It isn't even a choice.

20 last night, almost 30 since 9am this morning. Was going to go sledding but why bother, I have a $50 lift pass for castle.

I just told my wife don't expect anything from me for 2 days other than a phone call at night. Maybe a text or two.

My usual ski buddy has a fataed knee and is out for the season, all my other options can't go Monday. I'm this close to saying screw it and go myself, which I've never done. This storm might be too good to pass up.

Anyone want to do a CP ski day?

I was so close to calling in Sick today to hit Castle. But the -25 weather made me bail.

I'm going to try to hit Norquay on Wednesday for the $2 lift tickets and fresh snow. Hopefully it warms up though.

Seeing some of the pics out there makes me wish even more that my knee wasn't garbage. That MRI can't come soon enough.

Anyone make it out to castle or fernie?

Making the trek out to castle tomorrow. Their facebook said their lot filled up and they had to turn people away so hoping to get there early.

It's also supposed to be ~-25 ish. Looking at 115cm in the past 4-5 days though...

At the news at noon they said some lifts in Fernie were closed due to high winds.

Show snow up to the windows of some cars. Looks like snowmaggedon

I decided against going today (cold, bad roads) out to Castle. Am doing their Cat Skiing Friday instead. Should be good.

Was going to trek to castle today but the temp. scared me off.

Yah they 'sold out' of lift tickets and were turning people away.

30+ minute waits for lifts.

That would be cold!

They only got 5 cm over night I believe. Is it still coming down hard?

Also the highway to Fernie is closed and is supposed to stay closed all night last I heard.

Still closed http://www.drivebc.ca/mobile/pub/events/id/238234.html

Hopefully it opens soon. Would be nice to have fernie available and to clear some crowds out of castle (as I'm guessing that's why they were so busy..)

I skiied both Saturday and Sunday but had to tap out before 2pm on Sunday after I tried to stand up off the lift and almost collapsed. Got about 40th chair from the base so had a couple of awesome laps, but didn't have the legs to do a full day. It was easily, without question the best state I've ever seen that hill in, though granted I've only got maybe eight or ten days there.

I'm probably going to Louise on Wednesday. Looks like it'll warm to -15ish and I doubt the far side of the back bowls (boundary, richardson's and beyond) will be touched so should be good.

Bunk, the cat terrain in Castle is probably insane. I wonder how many people have got in there so far. One lap would make the trip worth it I suspect.

They don't run the cat Sunday through Thursday, - although this week they are doing a group Wednesday too. So thus far after this storm, pretty much untracked.

Yeah, but you can skin in there pretty easily, you don't actually need the cat. With a storm like this it would take a while to get around to doing that though, so it should be pretty fresh.

Think I might play hooky tomorrow and go to Louise. Supposedly a snowfall warning today, at least 20cm. And not -20, which will be nice.

Yup, work is a no go tomorrow, just got to Canmore. It was raining before Scott Lake hill, snowing when I hit Lac Des Arc. Should be good tomorrow!
