I forgot how much I love this song. Great Prince penned song and it's the perfect vehicle for Morris Day. I also just recorded the new Haim album off Youtube onto cassette. I have to go buy the actual album someday soon. It's that good.
Randy and Jason Sklar, twins, comedians, sportscasters, have a foot firmly planted in the comedy world and one firmly planted in the sports world. Having done the critically acclaimed sports show Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic for 77 episodes and their highly touted podcast Sklarbro Country which mixes sports and comedy for the past 5 years running, there is nobody making sports palatable for the non sports fan, like the Sklar Brothers.
Their new show, "Just Saying" is a debate style show in the vein of Pardon the Interruption, with elements of the Daily Show, @midnight, and Bill Maher thrown into the mix, to culminate in a show that, like Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver, takes a look at the biggest and craziest stories in the sports world from the the last week. The show will feature hilarious, comedians on a panel as well as a celebrity interview and out of studio field pieces.
This is a sports show for comedy fans and a comedy show for sports fans. Nobody is taking the sports world down a peg in a comedic way, like this show will do. Come be a part of something unique and join us in the studio audience.
Seeing Norm Macdonald on Letterman again was just awesome, reminds me of why talkshows are typically stale to me these days. I've fallen out of the loop on all these new celebrities, so the interviews just don't do much.
Watching Norm again reminds me of what a good talk show guest should be. Come on and have fun and entertain, don't come on and tell a stupid story about how you were travelling to film your reality show and your stupid luggage went to another city so you didn't have some stupid thing that you normally have and had to make do.
Norm talked about it a little while ago, and how the hosts love him and would interview him all the time, but the networks are all about having something on the go and getting the latest names from the latest lame shows.
I get it, but it would be nice to see him on talkshows more than once a year. (Letterman this year, Conan last year).
President Jimmy Carter, "Interstellar" director Christopher Nolan, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, astronaut Chris Hadfield, author Arianna Huffington, "Star Trek" star George Takei and "All in the Family" creator Norman Lear are the guest lineup for the first run of episodes running through June 22.
Just watched The Late Late Show with James Corden.
He did fine, for a "first" show, but he's totally bland and vanilla compared to Craig Ferguson. I have no strong urge to watch another episode based on him.
I'm a fan of James Corden and I know he's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I thought he did a great job with the premiere of The Late Late Show last night. Was quite funny and really genuine, though a bit too deferential to the audience and guests. I expect he will develop a bit more of an edge as he gets more comfortable. He's not Ricky Gervais, but he's not afraid of biting humour.
It was not a perfect premiere by any means, but Corden's off to a great start imo. Certainly he seems much more comfortable with the format than Seth did when he started.

He has big boots to fill but the youtube vids they've posted were all really good IMO. The Filmography of Tom Hanks bit was awesome. I will say it 's going to take some time to get used to the seating format for interviews. It's set up similarly to the Graham Norton show.
Corden should do well with the Late Late Show but it's going to take some time for folks to get over losing Ferguson.
